About Birdshot

   updated 6-26-08

Birdshot was formed in the summer of 2007 because a group of disc golf buddies
     realized that nobody was running
tournaments in the greater Houston area.
They decided that the tradition started before them by John (Gimp) Edwards

and Scott Rosanski of Team Disaster, and then by Rick (Danger) Bannister of
     FlyNHigh Disc Golf.com was too
good to not be continued somehow, someway.

Saturday only, local, PDGA sanctioned tournaments is the way we like it.
    Team Disaster started with the
Gulf Coast Championship Series. I preregistered for
all 5? events in 2003. The Gulf Coast Championship Series
evolved into the Lone Star
Series. Rick Bannister continued the Lone Star Series. Since we are going to be
presenting
only local tournaments, we decided to change it to the Greater Houston Championship
    Series and
hope to continue the excellent standards that preceded us. After all, Houston
is the 4th largest city in the U.S.
with some very good disc golf courses, players,
and a strong local disc golf club, HFDS.

    So who makes up Birdshot?
    Recreational Michael "Bullwhip" Brockmyre
    Novice Gene "Mean" Engel
    Recreational Billy "Birdshot" Gilbert
    Recreational Matt Petre

Advanced Grand Master Chuck DP Discer Conaway.
If you have any knowledge of the history of disc golf tournaments in the Houston
    area before Team Disaster,
please email the webmaster (see homepage) and tell us
all about it so a webpage called
"History of Houston area Disc Golf Tournaments"
    can be created.

Please email me as an attachment, your Disc Golf Autobiography so that I can create a link
"Greater Houston Disc Golfers" or if I get out of
towners, "Texas Disc Golfers",
or if I get out of staters, "U.S. Disc Golfers", or if I get out of country,

"Worldwide Disc Golfers" I want to get to know the disc golf family out there.
Other players might want to also.
What would you include in your autobiography?
When you started, your home course, your rating, what division you play in,

any prestigious tournaments you have played in, what states or countries you have played in,
      how many aces you have,
fav course, etc.  Whatever you would like other players to know
about your disc golfing. The first player to submit their disc golf autobiography will receive a
Champion Teebird (good condition, weight unknown, dark blue, signed by Ken Climo - allright,
its a stamp signature)  FLASH UPDATE! Eric Jubin has submitted his bio, see below,
and received his Champion Teebird at the Willie & Powell tourney.
